Get soda off restaurant kids’ menus
Wendy’s, McDonald’s, Burger King, Dairy Queen, Jack in the Box, IHOP and Applebee’s have taken soda off their children’s menus. Still, many top chains, including Chili’s, still promote sugary beverages as a part of their children’s menus. Will you help us change that?
While taking soda off the menu is not the only improvement needed to make restaurant children’s meals healthier, soda and other sugary drinks uniquely promote obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. Sugar-sweetened beverages are the largest source of calories in children’s diets and provide nearly half of their added sugars intake. Drinking just one sugary drink each day increases a child’s odds of becoming obese by 60 percent.

It can be hard to wrap your head around a number like that, so the Rudd Center puts things into perspective with this new infographic.
